What is regenerative agriculture and how can these methods be used to restore depleted grazing lands, develop a successful livestock operation and stay financially and environmentally sound?
Regenerating landscapes describes cultural and management practices that rebuild soil organic matter and restore degraded soil biodiversity...resulting in both carbon draw-down and improving the water cycle. It is holistic land management practices that leverage the power of photosynthesis in plants to build soil health, resilience, and nutrient density. Well managed grazing practices stimulate improved plant growth and overall grazing land health while greatly increasing soil fertility, insect and plant biodiversity, and soil carbon sequestration.
The Colorado Section of the Society for Range Management and Colorado State University Extension are pleased to announce an exciting training opportunity providing information about land stewardship methods and practices that worked in the past and are now being incorporated back into the future of regenerating landscapes.
Special thanks to the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) and the National Grazing Land Coalition (NatGLC) for their support!
